This 1.25 hour self-paced Fertility Awareness-Based Methods (FABM) course presents sexual and reproductive health care providers with the scientific evidence supporting FABM and strategies for providing client-centered counseling when
discussing these methods with people who want to plan or prevent pregnancy or to understand their bodies better.
After completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the guiding principles for fertility awareness-based method use.
- Explain the menstrual cycle, including the cyclic and observable biomarkers or fertility indicators associated with hormonal fluctuations.
- Describe strategies people can use to monitor biomarkers of fertility.
- Apply client-centered counseling strategies to educate clients about fertility awareness-based methods.
